AIGA PGH Portfolio Review

As the new Education Director for AIGA Pittsburgh, I took pride in planning the inaugural portfolio review post-pandemic. This event took place at Chatham University, within the historic Mellon room. My responsibilities included sourcing professional reviewers who volunteered their expertise and time. I promoted the event among educators to encourage student participation—a task I undertook with great enthusiasm.

I'm thrilled to report that our efforts drew in 50 students and reviewers. Notably, we discovered that potential job opportunities were on the table—a testament to the event's success.

From the vantage point of a professional reviewer, this initiative stood as a remarkable opportunity to contribute to our community by nurturing the upcoming designers within the creative industry. For the attending students, the event provided experience in presenting their work and receiving constructive feedback—an invaluable stepping stone as they embark on their professional journey.
